Transitioning To Responsive Design

We've taken a bit of a break from social media over the holidays, for some much needed downtime, but also to do some digital housekeeping. Quite a lot of it, in fact.

Knowing that visitors are coming from multiple devices, we have redesigned our websites utilizing responsive design techniques. Whether it’s desktop, mobile or a tablet, images, text and even the page layout now tailor to the end user’s device for optimal viewing experience.

Most importantly, images scale and retile to fit the viewers screen resolution, presenting our work in the best possible format.

This also benefits our development from an efficiency standpoint. Gone are the days of Adobe Flash,  which often required entire sections of our websites to be republished in order to replace a single image.

We’ve streamlined the image sizing process, and will now use easily updatable code to present feature images, eliminating the necessity of  resizing and optimizing images as the need arises.

All in all we are pleased with the results, and relieved to check this important change off of our to do list. Why does everything always take so much longer than you think it will?

Take a look at our new sites if you get the chance and let us know what you think!
