Petit Palais Musée des Beaux-arts de la Ville de Paris

#TakeMeBackTuesday to the Petit Palais Musée des Beaux-arts de la Ville de Paris

I was more drawn to the art of the architecture even than to the paintings inside. This is a view of the central dome of the museum from its beautiful outdoor courtyard and garden. It has a ship sculpture (Emile Peynot?) that represents the coat of arms of Paris, and amazing round stained glass windows by Louis-Charles-Marie Champigneulle.

There is so much to see and appreciate just in this courtyard, let alone the rest of the building by Charles Girault. Definitely a wonderful place to pause and take in art and architectural history. - Kimberly

Saunders Fine Arts POTD - The Baked Potato in California

For #ThrowbackThursday, our first Airstream, a Bambi, on the road near the Chandelier Tree in Leggett, California.

This photo from the fall of 2016 is out of focus, but I kept it because I really liked it anyway. It's out of focus because I was taking pictures while driving, which I shouldn't do, or admit to, because it's dangerous, but our 'Baked Potato' looked so good on the road that sometimes I just couldn't help myself. Traveling the West Coast with our Bambi is an experience we'll never forget, and that we can't wait to do again with our Flying Cloud. - Kimberly

Saunders Fine Arts POTD - Sunflowers In A Windowsill, Texas

Here's my take on the sunflower bouquet Patrick Saunders painted from life last week. Couldn't let these beauties go without trying to get some pictures.

Patrick felt like they were dancing when he painted them. When I grouped them in this small blue vase to photograph them, it was like a pretty girl with untamable hair. - Kimberly

Saunders Fine Arts POTD - Cape Flattery Rainforest Trail, Neah Bay, Washington, Makah Reservation

In keeping with reminiscing about our 2016 trip to Washington on our Plein Air Streaming page today, here are some images of a day we spent hiking the Cape Flattery rain forest trail on the northwestern tip of the Olympic Peninsula at Neah Bay, Washington on the Makah Reservation.

This area about an hour-and-half away from Port Angeles, Washington is still the most beautiful place we have ever been in the U.S., and we look forward to camping there again some day. If you book the right spot at the Salt Creek Recreation Area, you are literally on a cliff overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca, an outlet to the Pacific Ocean.

The most northwestern point of the continental United States.

Saunders Fine Arts POTD - Excelsior Geyser Crater, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

For #ThrowbackThursday, a photo from our 2016 visit to the Excelsior Geyser Crater in the Midway Geyser Basin at Yellowstone National Park. At 190 degrees, this spring is even hotter than the Grand Prismatic Spring.

We took our time Airstreaming through Wyoming, Montana, and Arizona with our Airstream Bambi (the Baked Potato) on this unforgettable trip, and we look forward to visiting other parts of these beautiful states again with our Flying Cloud, the Sweet Potato.
